April Budget

I link up my monthly budget posts over at Franish.

This was a weird month of shopping for me.  I didn't buy much, but I did spend quite a hunk of change on new underthings.  It was time.  I was in desperate need of new underthings.  So, keep that in mind when looking at the breakdown for this month.

Purchases

Total Spent: $119.77
Budget: $150
Leftover: $30.23

I don't think I did too bad.  The Bs&Ps got me this month, but those are important too.  Not just for obvious reasons, but because when ya got a nice pair of panties and a bra on, it just makes ya feel good, doesn't it ladies?

I am excited about the jeans from Maurice's.  I totally forgot about that store until someone mentioned buying a top there last month and I spent an evening on their website making a wish list!  I was excited about finding curvy jeans there, too, and the pair I bought fit great!

Oh, and, guess what else Maurice's has!? Shorts with longer inseams!  I can't wait to order a couple of pair and try them out.  I hate the shorter inseams on shorts these days, so when I find ones that aren't going to cause my thighs to catch on fire, I grab them up.  I don't wear shorts hardly ever because of this.  I need the longer inseam, but I don't want them to my knees. Ya get me?

The pink lace top is just waiting in my closet for me to style it.  I promised Danielle that I would tag her in it when I did it, so, Danielle, if you are reading this, I'm going to do it, I swear! I'm just trying to figure out where to take the pictures because the lighting is so horrible in my house! (#bloggerprobs)

My dolman top that I wore to the wedding earlier this month  hasn't been worn again, but it's going to look great with a pair of those new shorts I am going to try out or the jeans I bought this month. It's all about combinations, ladies!

Hopefully next month I have a bit more to show you all!  I am going to do my best!

If you're coming here from a fashion link up, don't leave here without seeing my newest series: Wardrobe Staples.

    1. I have to tell you something-I am wearing them today for the first time. Even after washing them and drying them, they are a bit too big! I am pretty weirded out right now. They fit when I got them and tried them on and now, they are baggy!? I'm hoping that after this next wash and dry round they will be okay. If not, I think I may have to sell them. LOL! Thanks for stopping by Sara!

    1. Yes, they can. Which is why the jeans I purchased were the $30 ones and not the $80 ones. HA!

  4. It's funny isn't it, how that underthings purchase sneaks up on you? I always find that everything gives way at once! ;)

  5. Ah yes, nice fitting bras and panties makes such a difference! Do you give yourself the same allowance every month?

    1. Erica, yes. I try to stay under $150 a month. IF there is anything left over, I chuck it into the savings account for a rainy day purchase (Ya know, like the purse or shoes that you just HAVE to have OR my new DSLR that I am saving up for.) I had intended to roll the remainder into the next month, but I thought that maybe it would be a better use if it was saved for that one BIG thing.

  6. Great job on the budget! B&Ps are always so expensive! I'm always looking for shorts with longer inseams! Those booty shorts are not approprite for anyone, let alone an almost 30 year old.

    1. YES YES YES! When I was in college and chilling at the pool during the summer and could wear my two piece and my shorty shorts because my thighs didn't catch fire, you bet I was all over them. Now....NO. You won't catch me in them even if I am not leaving my house. They are just not comfortable! Longer inseams all the way!

  7. I've never shopping at Maurice's. Is it regional? I hate spending money on undergarments as well, but it's so necessary...

    1. It may be regional, Anna Belle, I'm not sure. I live in IL and we have a couple around here. You can always go to http://www.maurices.com and look for their Store Locator and see if they have one near you! Shopping online works too! :) Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Thanks Ashley! Our daughter will be 3 in July and it has taken me this long to finally start feeling good in my "new" body. Sometimes it's hard to adjust to our new bodies after a baby comes. I am finally happy to say that I love mine! Thanks for stopping by!

  9. We just started budgeting for a clothing allowance and my hubby gets $75 and I get $75 a month. I went a little over with mine ($82), but I was pretty excited about getting 3 skirts, a blazer, a top, 2 necklaces, and a bracelet :)

  10. New underthings are always nice! I always forget to buy new bras & underwear & stuff, so when I finally do I feel like I'm a supermodel! LOL

    1. I am so glad I am not the only one that forgets about the bras and panties! I mean, they are a necessity so you would think I would notice the shape they are getting into after awhile, but no. No. I just continue wearing them until they are threadbare OR a strap breaks. Ha!

  11. I desperately need new bras but if I had your budget, which is way more than mine, I'd blow it on one bra! So, here I am wearing one where the hook is missing. Oh well!

    1. I kept using moleskin to cover the underwire poking out and stabbing me in the boob. I finally just had it one day. Lol! Thanks for stopping by April!
