Since my brain has been mush, I have been browsing other blogs for inspiration and trying to generate some new ideas. I have seen some pretty good posts lately, especially this one from Kemi over at Beauty Style Growth . As a matter of fact, I liked it so much, I decided to answer the questions myself. It just goes to show that inspiration for blogging is, in fact, everywhere.
What are your favorite jeans?
I only own two pairs of jeans right now because of my closet purge. I purchased these last month which I love, but I just got a new pair that I ordered from Maurice's that are quickly becoming my favorite. You guys will have to wait to see those until I reveal my monthly budget.
How do you play up your eyes?
Eyeliner. Remember when I talked about how I had recently figured out how to use eyeliner? Yea-I should have been using it all along. Eyeliner definitely makes my eyes stand out.
I can sum up my music playlist in three words....
Spotify Phone App ;)
Who are you loving on Instagram?
Danielle from Goodwillista: This young lady right here loooves thrifting and showing us how she styles herself on the cheap. She comes up with the cutest outfits! She also blogs at Goodwillista. I also bought a top from her and I can't wait to style it for you all! :)
Audrey from Putting Me Together: Audrey was one of the first style bloggers I started following and she is such an inspiration to me. You guys seriously need to check out her blog, Putting Me Together. Tons, I mean TONS, of fashion inspiration over there. Easy on your wallet, too....
Marissa from The Modern Austen: I actually started following her blog because of it's title and I have never been disappointed. Marissa covers a lot over at her blog so there is bound to be something for everyone. She has style, she has writing, she has giveaway's....Go check her out-you won't be sorry!
What's your trick for getting out the door and still looking great?
Minimal make-up. I'm talking foundation, blush, eyeliner, powder to set, lipgloss, and go. That was what I did almost every day going to college (minus the eyeliner, but add in mascara).
How would you describe your style?
I call it put-together-casual. I don't like anything too clingy or tight. I love my jeans, maxi skirts, maxi dresses, cardigans, flats, loose fit t's (sometimes not so loose fit t's...depends on how I feel that day). If I worked outside of the home, it may be different, but for now, that's what I like. I believe in dressing for yourself, not what you think others want to see. Life's too short to be boxed in.
Well, that was fun! I may have to do that more often!
:) I knowww . . . I should get back to wearing eyeliner. :) Lovely post & blog. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Holley! I use Avon Gimmersticks and it's the one I'm most comfortable with. It's not too sharp and it isn't so soft that it crumbles everywhere. It works great for this newbie! :) Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI need to start experimenting with eyeliner. I think it would make a difference, but so far I've been too nervous.
ReplyDeleteI scoured Pinterest for months soaking up all the knowledge I could about wearing eyeliner. I finally got a good recommendation on what eyeliner to use (Avon Glimmersticks) and just used Pinterest tutorials the first few times to help me do it. I was always afraid it would make me look hooker-ish, that's why I had never worn it. However, now that I know how to actually line my eyes without making myself look like that-I feel much better about it! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteNow that I work from home, I'm a t-shirt/jeans woman and couldn't be happier. I hated dressing for the corporate world when I worked outside of the home. Thanks for the shot outs to check out. I love finding new talent. And yes on the minimal makeup! It's the only way to go.
ReplyDeleteI have to pry myself away from my yoga pants a lot-that's actually why I have started gearing my blog more towards style. It's a way to hold myself accountable. I like to be put together-it makes me feel better about myself. However, I will totally admit that there are days where baggy sweats are the only way to go. Ha! Thanks for stopping by Debbie!
