Valentine Treats

With Valentine's Day coming up on Friday, I thought today would be a good day to offer some easy, last minute ideas to make for your Valentine.

Yes, there is quite a lot of red velvet going on, but I am a sucker for red velvet.  Combine that with my second love, chocolate, and I'm all in.  I am especially interested in the puppy chow and the brownies.  I may have to make those this week.

Which ones do you love?

Valentine's Day Crafts for Kids

Has anyone else been stuck in the house for what feels like forever?  I have been trying to keep L entertained, but our rainy day basket stopped cutting it a week ago.  So did her new puzzles, her matching game, and pretty much anything else she got for Christmas she is now over.

We haven't done much crafting since Christmas, so I thought maybe now would be a good time to find some Valentine's Day themed things for L to make and I knew just where to look for those-Pinterest!

And now I am going to share what I found with all of you!

I did something similar to the paper hug last year for the grandparents, but this year I'm doing something a bit more different.  I have chosen to do one of these from the round up, but you aren't going to know until after Valentine's Day which one.  (I can't spoil the surprise the for the grandparents!) I will give you a hint:  I had to buy a craft supply I have never purchased before. ;)

These are all cut and easy crafts to do with your kids while they are stuck indoors on these cold days.

Tell me which ones your favorite!

Toddler Christmas Crafts

I hope everyone had a great weekend and Monday is treating you kindly!  I hope you all got to see Friday's post!  If not, go check it out now!

Since we've been getting into the holiday spirit around here, I've been trying to come up with things to keep L busy indoors.  (It is freezing here in the Midwest!) I decided to check Pinterest and was suddenly reminded of all the Christmas crafts I used to make as a kid.  Reindeer hands, paper plate snowmen, Santa with the cotton ball beard....there was so much....and so many different variations!

So, if I'm having problems keeping my kiddo entertained on these cold days, I know someone else has to be, so I did us all a favor and rounded up some crafts for us to do!

I think L and I are going to try our hands at the paper plate snowman and Santa, the paper chains, and possibly the reindeer ornaments, if we have enough time.  However, paper chains can be made at any time, with different colors, for any occasion.....

Hmm, decisions, decisions....

What are you doing with your little ones to gear up for the holiday season?

Thanksgiving Dessert Round Up

Alright, so, here's the deal:  I flaked on a recipe for this week.  I totally forgot to include my featured recipe in my grocery list and thus, it did not get purchased.  Next week though, I will have an awesome new recipe to make up for it!

In the meantime, I took the liberty of rounding up some pretty yummy looking Thanksgiving desserts around Pinterest!  Have a look see!  You won't find pumpkin pie in this round up!

Ten Slow Cooker Recipes

One of my favorite things about fall (besides cardigans, scarves, and dark nail polish) is that I get to pull out my slow cooker and make recipes like chicken and dumplings and honey barbecue chicken for my family.  I adore my slow cooker and am always looking for new recipes to try in it.

Here are some slow cooker recipes that are guaranteed to make your house smell yummy and fill your belly with nutritious goodness on those cool evenings.

I also have a *bonus recipe* for you all!

Some of these recipes call for cream of whatever soup.  I have been known to use the cream of whatever soups from time to time, but this recipe is great!  Instead of spooning slop into your slow cooker, follow the recipe below to make a DIY mix that replaces slop in a can!
