Here I am again with another recipe from my kitchen! This one is good for the kiddos and adults! Because, seriously, who doesn't like little hot dogs wrapped in melted cheese and a lovely croissant?
I made these for L and I one day for a fun lunch. In need of a change from our lunch meat/PBJ/Chicken Fingers rut, I started scouring the fridge.
Hmm...Turkey dogs....sliced cheese....a can of croissants...PIGS IN A BLANKET!
I quickly got to work creating the coolest pigs in a blanket I had ever created.
Here's what you will need:
4 hot dogs
4 slices of American cheese
A can of croissants
(This recipe makes 8. Adjust for your needs.)

Here's what you need to do:
***Follow the directions on the croissant can for pre-heating and cooking times.***
Spray your cookie sheet with a good non-stick spray.
Cut the hot dogs and the cheese slices in half.
Un-roll the croissants so they make their cute little triangles and place them directly on the cookie sheet (or a cutting board, counter top, etc.)

Place a piece of cheese down on the little triangle, then the hot dog, and roll 'em up!
Continue this until they are all rolled and bake as directed.
Let them cool down and serve!
Toddler approved!

I put bacon on them too...yummo!
ReplyDeleteI didn't even think of that, but YES! We use turkey dogs and turkey bacon, so that works out great! Thanks for stopping by Lindsay!
DeleteOoh cheese and bacon in them? That sounds great.
ReplyDeleteRight!? I am going to have to do that next time!
DeleteGrammy approved too! Thanks for sharing Sara!
ReplyDeleteEveryone loves Pigs in a Blanket! Thanks for stopping by Kim!
DeleteThis looks delish! I made pigs in a blanket last weekend and we've been craving more ever since.
ReplyDeleteThey were SO good! I just love them! My mom used to use just plain biscuits from a can instead of the croissants-those are good too!
DeleteGreat idea! I like to make them for breakfast using sausage. I don't think I've ever made them for my kids. They'd love them. Pinning.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pin Margaret! Totally make these for your kids! They will love them! The breakfast idea sounds pretty good too, actually! I may have to do that!
DeleteI've heard brie and pesto inside a crescent roll is to die for. I haven't yet tried it, though!
ReplyDeleteBut in my opinion, you can go wrong with crescent rolls and melted cheese!
I am a carb FREAK! (It shows, too, but that is beside the point...) I may have to try the brie and pesto. That sounds delicious!
DeleteNeed to make these for the kids. They look great!
ReplyDeleteThey are so good, Ami! Totally make them for the kids! Heck, if they are old enough, have them help you! That would be a fun time in the kitchen for sure!
DeleteWe just made these last week- one of the kids' favorites! They love it with cheese, and I love the idea of adding bacon (someone mentioned bacon, right?!)
ReplyDeleteYes! Someone did mention bacon! I never thought of it, but I think that would be a great addition.
