Fall Makeup Favorites

Do you guys remember me talking about e.l.f products before? I just love e.l.f makeup! They offer a variety of budget-friendly options for us ladies who love to save a dime everywhere we go. Their face primer and the mist and set they carry are my two favorite products, but I am always searching their shelves in the store or online for yet another favorite.

When I was browsing the interwebs the other night, I decided to head on over to e.l.f's website and see what I could see. That's when I got this great idea to tell you all about some of my e.l.f favorites for fall! I do major makeup shopping twice a year-once in the spring for spring/summer skin and then again in the fall for fall/winter skin. Unless you use a self-tanner or tan in a tanning bed, you're going to get pasty in the fall and winter, therefore, your foundation color is probably going to change.  Also, spring and fall are when they have the best sales, duh!  Speaking of which, e.l.f is currently having a 50% off sale on select products, so be sure to head on over and get you some great products on the cheap!

FALL MAKEUP FAVORITES

You just cant go wrong with the pricing on e.l.f products.  What I love to tell people is that e.l.f is good makeup to not only use continuously, but to use to try stuff out.  Not sure about how to do that fancy eyeshadow you see on Pinterest?  Buy an eyeshadow set for $1 from e.l.f and practice!  Got a pre-teen who wants to experiment with makeup?  Take her to Target and let her browse the e.l.f section.  You won't break the bank when you buy her that first starter kit.

That ends today's post!  If you haven't had a chance to enter the giveaway I have going on, you can do that below!  You don't want to miss out on your chance to win some jewelry! Also, I am wrapping up some last minute details on the party that will be happening later this month.  I will have those details to all of you as soon as I have them!

#Beauty Product Reviews

I have a handful of new beauty products that I have purchased over the past couple of months and I have been dying to tell you about them!  I have mostly hair and face products to discuss today, but I tend to shop all across the board when it comes to beauty products, so I'm sure next month will be something completely different.

Products

OGX Shampoo/Conditioner (Sea Mineral Moisture) ($5.79/piece)

I had been wanting to try something new for a long time in regards to shampoo and conditioner. I kept reading about these sulfate-free shampoos and, after some research, I settled on this particular brand and version. I'm not totally sold on it yet. The kind I got doesn't smell as great as I would like it to. Besides that, it has minimal lather (which is common for sulfate-free shampoos) and the conditioner seems to moisturize the ends of my hair. I haven't seen a big change in my hair, so I will try another version of this combo before moving on to something else. (Anyone else use this brand?  I will take suggestions on a different version.)

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle: Strong ($3.99)

Now this-this has been a life saver. I use it on my hair once a week after I shampoo and let it sit for the remainder of my shower (about ten minutes), rinse with warm water, then a final rinse with cool water before I get out of the shower. A blast of cool water on your hair locks in the conditioner-and does other fabulous things, too. I love this stuff. It smells great and my hair is so soft and shiny afterwards.

Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray ($3.99)

If you aren't using something on your hair to protect it from your heated styling tool(s), you're killing your hair. When you drag that straight iron through your hair and you hear small screams, that's your hair dying.  Go to the store, buy this stuff, spray it on your hair (damp or dry, no worries) before you use any kind of styling tool and protect your hair. I love this product.  Great smelling, good price, and it protects your hair.  Why spend all that money on shampoos, deep conditioners, and salon trips if you have fried hair?

St. Ives Timeless Skin Collagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer ($5.29)

As I've gotten older, I can't just wash my face anymore and go to bed. I need to a few more things in my routine to keep my skin from looking sixty when it's actually only 30. This is a great moisturizer to put on your face in the morning after the shower and at night after you wash your face.  A little goes a long way with this product. It's kind of perfum-y, but it's not overpowering.  It does feel a bit greasy when you put it on, but it dries pretty quickly. I always feel refreshed after I put it on and it dries. I can feel it soaking into my skin and I like that.  I haven't noticed any obvious visible changes, but I like to think that I am counteracting possible wrinkles.
What are some of your favorite beauty products right now?

#Jamberry Nail Wraps Review + Giveaway

I have got a special treat for the ladies today! Have you all heard of Jamberry Nail Wraps? If you have, then you know how glorious these are and you can just skip to the end where I have a little somethin'-somethin' for THREE lucky readers.  If you haven't heard of Jamberry Nail Wraps, then you need to read on!

Who has time to go to the salon every two weeks to get a manicure filled?  (No, really, if you do, can you come watch my kid so I can go?) Let's face it, there just isn't enough hours in the day to do all the things we need to do and still take care of ourselves.  There just isn't.  So, what do we do?  We let things go.

Jamberry Nail Wraps are the answer to your no-time-for-a-manicure nightmares.  Jamberry Nail Wraps are a solid film covering that applies directly to your nail using a heat source (i.e hair dryer) and stays on your nail for up to two weeks! I gave L a bath with these things on, did laundry, dug in the dirt, carried boxes, scraped my nails across things, did dishes by hand in hot, soapy water...they never came off!  After the two weeks was up, I simply removed them how I had been shown and voila!  No damage to my nail!  At all!

Here is a great video that shows how to apply them and how to take them off:

And here is the manicure I did with my free sample!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Twisted Pink

The nail wraps also come in sizes for your toes and if you have a little girl-they make them in her size, too!

Mandy has all kinds of information to share with us and even a chance or two to win something!  Oh, and, did I mention you can shop online in your PJs!?  #winning

May Make-Up Buys

I thought that it would be fun to talk about some of the beauty products I have been using and trying out lately.  I buy beauty products every month, so why not talk about them and tell you all why I use them?  I get to chat about beauty products and you all get a heads-up on products that maybe you don't know so much about. Sound cool?  I thought so.

When I placed my clothing order with Target last month, I also added some make up to my cart.  I don't normally do this, but there were some products that I had been dying to try and I just couldn't wait any longer.

The first product I have to talk about is the Maybelline Baby Lips.  I kept seeing all these other bloggers raving about this product and I knew I needed to see what the fuss was all about!  So, I ordered the Peach Kiss per all the reviews since I was looking for just a nice shimmery look to my lips.  Verdict:  This stuff is AWESOME!  I loved it so much, in fact, that while I was making a late night run to Walgreen's one night (for ice cream...I'm not sorry), I picked up the Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue in Pink Me Up.  It's fantastic too!  It has a cool burst with it so it refreshes the lips and gives you a bit of color all in one! The best part: $2.99 at Target online right now.  Not kidding!  Go now!

Another lip product made it into my cart last month and that was the Maybelline Color Whisper Lipcolor.  I was just roaming around the lipstick online and saw the name of these and was intrigued.  After reading the reviews and looking through the color options, I purchased Lust for Blush and it is the perfect shimmery light mauve.  Verdict: It's a little tacky feeling at first, but once it dries, its light as a feather.  I forget I even had it on.  It's a pretty good price at $5.99!  I may have to try out another color, but I'm not quite sure yet.

I was in desperate need of some black eyeliner as I had ran out of my Avon Glimmersticks and hadn't had a chance to order more.  So, I decided to give Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner a try.  Verdict:  This goes on very smoothly, which is a must since I have only been messing with eyeliner for a little over a year.  As long as I use my eyelid primer on my lids and dab a little under my eye, the liner doesn't smudge.  If I don't, it smudges.  Horribly.  I'm a tad bummed that I paid $4.99 for something that I am not totally in love with, but it isn't a horrible price for eyeliner either.  So.  Any recs on eyeliner ladies? I need smooth application and minimal to no smudge!

I spent a little under $20 last month on new products and 3 out of the 4 were successes.  In my book, that's a win!  I can't wait to show you all what I get in June next month!  I'm already eyeing some nail polish!  So, tell me, did you try any new make-up products this month?

Beauty Review: e.l.f Primer + GIVEAWAY

I have to tell you all about my latest make up find!  I was over browsing around on e.l.f one night and came across their mineral infused face primer while searching for something that would help my face appear more polished when wearing make up.  I read some of the reviews and decided to give it a try for the whopping six bucks that it would cost me.

I got it pretty quickly (along with some other things I had ordered from e.l.f) and I was so excited to get the stuff, I decided to show you all.  Some of you may have seen this on IG a few weeks back.

This was a good mail day. :)

I was really excited to try it out and when I did, I was amazed at the results!  This stuff makes my face look like it did in my twenties!  (For those of you that remember, that is just a little over ten years ago.) I got so excited I told my best friend and she bought some and she loves it too!

You want to see what this primer can do?

This is before primer...
(Yea, see....face needs a little help...)

And....AFTER!

The results are staggering, right?  I think what I am most impressed with is that it hides all my redness!  I purchased the tone adjusting green when I ordered and it did exactly what it said it was going to do.  I love it!  For six bucks, you can't beat it!

It goes on like SILK!  You feel like you are massaging SILK into your FACE! It doesn't leave a weird residue and it works well with my foundation and powder, so no clumpy face here, just a smooth and flawless finish.

This primer from e.l.f comes in four shades:
  • Clear: Basic prep
  • Tone Adjusting Green: Minimizes redness and combats blotchy skin
  • Brightening Lavender: Good for uneven skin tones and to brighten dull or yellow tones
  • Radiant Glow: Helps to cover dark spots and uneven skin tones
Like I said, I got the green and it completely removes all the redness from my face. Before I started using the primer, when I would finish my make up, you could still see the redness under my foundation.  It drove me crazy.  I would see these girls walking around with porcelain doll faces and I would silently scream, "How do they DO that!?"

And now I feel like I have been let in on the biggest beauty secret in the world: face primer.

Did I mention you can also buy this at Target? ;) Yes. Go.  Go to the make up aisle at Target and pick you up a six dollar bottle of pure genius.

Or...If you are feeling lucky...

ENTER FOR A CHANCE TO WIN 2 BOTTLES OF YOUR CHOICE OF PRIMER!

**This giveaway will close at 12 AM CST Friday, May 23, 2014.  Winner will be notified before 11:59 PM CST Friday, May 23, 2014.

**All opinions expressed in this post are my own.  I was NOT compensated for this post by e.l.f or Target.  I simply just loved the product and wanted to tell you all about it.  Then, I felt generous and decided to gift two bottles to one of my dear readers. :)

**Giveaway ONLY for US residents, 18 years of age and up.
