Operation: Get Out of Yoga Pants (Week 5)

So, this weeks post is a bit different.

1.  I'm not actually wearing the outfit this week.  I've been fighting a sinus infection for the past few days and my face is quite swollen.  I look a bit scary!

2.  I'm not actually wearing today's featured outfit until Sunday for our family photo session.  Since I have felt like crap all week, we haven't really gone anywhere.  Sure, I have ran to the store alone in the evenings, but that's been about the extent of my outings this week.  I just feel crummy.

So, with all of that being said, here is this weeks featured outfit!  AND A BONUS OUTFIT!
(And a promise to come back next week wearing my Thanksgiving Day outfit!)

Family Photo Day

Sweater: Kohl's (exact)
Jeggings: Kohl's (similar)
Boots: Urbanog.com (similar)

Here's the deal:  This is a super simple outfit for family photos.  I like to keep it basic-no busy prints for this girl when getting photographed!  I *may* add a red scarf.  As a matter of fact, I will more than likely add a red scarf.  L's dress is Christmas plaid, so that will go well together.

I feel my best in the jeggings and boots so that should help me feel comfortable getting my picture taken, which I can't hardly stand to do anymore.

***BONUS OUTFIT***
L's Christmas Dud's

Top: Hand-me-down
Dress: The tag says Children's Place, but it's a hand-me-down, too.
Tights: Wal-Mart (similar)
Boots: K-Mart (exact)

We love our hand-me-downs!  I have had to purchase a few things here and there for L since she has been born, but between the hand-me-downs and, what we like to call "Grandma Splurges", this kid strays pretty well outfitted.

L's outfit is a bit different this year.  The past couple of years she has worn really frilly Christmas dresses. (Think sparkles and glitter...I know, I know....but she's my little girl and she looked so cute....) Anyway, this year I wanted to do something a bit more comfortable, yet still cute.

What do you like to wear for family photos?

First of all I hope you are feeling better soon. Thanks for sharing even when you're feeling under the weather. I think simple outfits are best for picture taking and Lynzi's little plaid dress is darling. Thanks for sharing. Feel better. <3 Kim

  5. I'm all about hand me downs, sales, clearance, and promo codes (I do most of my shopping online)! I never pay full price unless I just can't live without it! Can't wait to see the family pics, I'm sure they're gonna be great! Feel better soon!

    1. Thanks TaMara! I am the same way-I am a BIG sale shopper! When I buy things, I always think about what I can dress it up or down with, etc. I believe it comes from years of working retail and having to do add on sales, dressing mannequins, etc. I have gotten quite smart and strategic with clothing since having Lynzi. It is such a blessing that we have people to get hand-me-downs from, too! I love 'em!
